1.3 Anonymous Users

If you use our app anonymously, we collect minimal data necessary for app functionality only.

1.4 Data Collection by Feature Usage

• No account created: We collect no personal data
• Account created but no cloud features used: Only email address
• Cloud backup enabled: Email + your feeds/sources/button configs/themes
• Community features used: Email + your voting data for ShoutDings
• Payment processing: Handled entirely by Apple/Google - we receive no payment data

Our services are not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Mobile Apps: We use cookies for:

• Authentication (Firebase - all users)
• Preferences and settings storage (all users)
• Ad delivery (AdMob - Anonymous and Free Account users only; Ad Free and Supporter subscribers see no ads)

9. Advertising (Free Tiers Only)

9.1 AdMob Integration

Anonymous and Free Account users see advertisements served by Google AdMob. Ad Free and Supporter subscribers have no advertisements.

9.2 Consent and Privacy Choices

We use Google AdMob's consent management to respect your privacy choices:

For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR regions):

• A consent form is presented when you first use the app
• You can choose to consent to personalized ads, receive non-personalized ads only, or decline
• AdMob automatically respects your choice - no further action needed

For users in US states with privacy laws (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, etc.):

• An opt-out notice is presented in accordance with applicable state privacy laws
• You can opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information for advertising purposes

Changing your choice:

• You can reset your ad consent/privacy settings at any time in the app's Settings menu
• After resetting, the consent or opt-out form will appear again on next app launch

9.3 Ad Data Collection

AdMob may collect:

• Device advertising ID
• IP address (anonymized)
• Device information
• Ad interaction data

9.4 Subscriptions to Remove Ads

Two subscription options remove all advertisements:

• Ad Free: £2.50/month - removes ads, all Free Account features
• Supporter: £5/month - removes ads, plus enhanced backup and cloud sync features

Both subscriptions:

• Cancellable at any time through your Apple/Google account
• No automatic charges after cancellation
• Right to cancel before next payment cycle
• Cancellation takes effect at end of current billing period
• Upgrade or downgrade between tiers at any time (changes take effect immediately; downgrades convert remaining value to extra time on new plan)

9.5 Other Ad Options

You can also:

• Reset your ad consent settings in the app (Settings → Reset Ad Consent)
• Reset your advertising ID in device settings
• Opt out of ads personalization: https://adssettings.google.com

10. Third-Party Services

We use:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, analytics
• AdMob (Google): Advertisements (free tiers only)
• Apple/Google/Microsoft: App distribution

Each has their own privacy policies.

11. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside the UK. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
